National Trade Office Hosts Highlands Regional Workshop at Hotel Kimininga in Mt Hagen

The Highlands Regional Workshop, hosted by the National Trade Office (NTO) at Hotel Kimininga in Mt Hagen, spanned four days ( Tuesday 28th November to Friday 1st December) and proved to be a resounding success in achieving its objectives of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and empowering participants with tools for economic growth.
The workshop commenced with an exploration of NTO’s role in supporting local farmers and SMEs, providing participants with insights into market access strategies, organizational structures, and policy frameworks.
The second day emphasized practical aspects, offering workshops and training modules focused on enhancing skills for navigating markets and optimizing businesses. Notable presentations by Mr. Munap and Mr. Kandato delved into trade facilitation efforts and internal workings of NTO, respectively, further enriching participants’ understanding.

On the third day, Ms. Jillatieno Juma, a distinguished Consultant from the European Union, brought a global perspective to discussions, emphasizing the collaborative efforts between the EU and Pacific regions. Her insights into economic partnership agreements underscored the importance of international collaboration for trade, economic growth, and sustainable development.
The final day expressed gratitude to participants, especially those from the Highlands, for their dedication to knowledge and collaboration.
