The Osaka World Expo 2025 officially concludes on October 13, 2025, marking the end of a seven-month global event that began on April 13, 2025. Over this period, Papua New Guinea’s Pavilion played a vital and impactful role in showcasing the nation’s rich culture, trade potential, and investment opportunities to the world.
Through the Secretariat under the National Trade Office, operating within the Ministry of International Trade and Investment, Papua New Guinea successfully highlighted its commitment to trade, innovation, and global collaboration.
One of the most remarkable moments of PNG’s participation was the PNG National Day, celebrated on July 21, 2025, and officiated by the Prime Minister Hon, James Marape and senior State Ministers. The event drew significant international attention, celebrating our nation’s identity and progress.
Participation in this world event has not only strengthened PNG’s international visibility but has also paved the way for new trade, tourism, and investment opportunities. The connections made during the Expo will have lasting benefits for PNG’s economy, fostering future partnerships, technology exchange, and cultural appreciation on a global scale.
We extend our deep appreciation to the Government of Papua New Guinea for making this participation possible through its funding and continued support. Special acknowledgment is given to the Minister for International Trade and Investment Hon. Richard Maru for his leadership and commitment in ensuring PNG’s presence at the Expo.
We also commend the Section Papua New Guinea Expo 2025 Commissioner General Ambassador Gabriel Dusava for its excellent coordination, and offer special thanks to the Chief Trade Officer, Mr. Richard Yakam, for his dedicated leadership and management through the National Trade Office.
